Current news regarding the Claudian Chronicles series: while we are still seeking a publisher, it has been brought to our attention that the storyline and certain plot elements make the Claudian Chronicles series a prime candidate for another medium other than the printed page--namely, animation. Therefore, in addition to our search for a publisher, we are also seeking experienced animators (Flash preferred) to put together a 2-3 minute video consisting of events described in detail in Chapter 26 of Stark Attrition. This will form a basis upon which to drum up interest in an entire series. Stark Attrition alone has enough material for a full length, 24 episode season. It is my unpleasant obligation to bring the latest news, the cancellation of negotiations with Tor. Claudian Chronicles is once again on the open market, seeking a new publisher. As a result, negotiations with Five Iron Frenzy have been postponed indefinitely, until such time as the series' acceptance once again looks likely. We the authors are considering hiring an agent to hasten this process if at all possible. Further bulletins as events warrant.
As lead writer for the Claudian Chronicles series, I am proud to announce formal negotiations are underway with the band Five Iron Frenzy. This deal, when finalized, will authorize the Claudian Chronicles series to utilize lyrics from the band's mid-nineties through early '00s duration. These will be implemented in book 2 of the series, tentatively titled Final Defense.
Flashinpon's Quest, my computer-based RPG series, has had the heroes Wesley Flashinpon and Ki S. Armour adapted to a science fiction storyline, which is currently pending publishing with TOR under the name Claudian Chronicles: Stark Attrition.
While it is a sci-fi comedy (as opposed to fantasy), the characters remain mostly unchanged. Beneath the jocular exterior lurks a moral undercurrent too poignant to ignore...email me at joesolo@gmail.com for more information.
(special thanks to Dan Corica and Steve Ernst for co-authoring Stark Attrition with me)
